Intellectual Prep Course

We offer three different modules to empower teachers to unpack and internalize the STAAR and ECO reading exams. This training aims to help teachers to backwards plan their instruction to ensure that their rigor is at and above the STAAR and EOC. Each module addresses different literary genres and provides teachers the intellectual prep necessary to conceptualize what effective instruction, questioning, and assessments need to look like to promote high academic achievement. This training does require an additional purchase of the Intellectual Prep Binder

RLA Teacher Residency Program

This three-summer long commitment engages teachers in a week long summer residency that pushes their understanding on how to bring balanced literary to life. This residency program is a summer intensive for teachers to master the art of student-centered reading and writing activities, STAAR/EOC aligned instruction, and promote a collaborative environment centered around student ownership and agency.

Short-Constructed Response (SCR)

This one-day training will empower teachers to master the art of writing through an analytical and inferential lens. Participants will enable teachers to conceptualize how to teach the SRC and experience the challenges students will encounter in writing through a text-based and inferential assertion framework. Teachers will received classroom and student resources to support effective instruction of the SCR.

Extended-Constructed Response (ECR)

Pre-Requisite: Short-Constructed Response

This two-day training enables teachers to learn how to scaffold the instruction associated to the STAAR/EOC extended-constructed response. Teachers will transfer their understanding of the Short-Constructed Response training to compose an effective and high-scoring extended constructed response. Participants will empower teachers to conceptualize how to teach the ECR and experience the challenges students will encounter in writing through a text-based and inferential assertion framework. Teachers will received classroom and student resources to support effective instruction of the ECR.
